http://tycamidwest.org/conference-speaker-details/ The well established Lakes Hotel at West Lakes is a favourite among Western Suburbs residents not only because of its magnificent views but also because of the quality of their food and their lakefront facing hotel rooms. Established in 1985, the Lakes Hotel has recently undergone a massive revamp and Tempting Palates were lucky enough to be invited for a taste test and look at the modernised Lakes Hotel thanks to Mercy Me Marketing.
“We wanted to create a fresh and vibrant space that genuinely has something for everyone throughout the day – all occasions, ages, and tastes”, says Trent Fahey, Operations Manager for Fahey Hotels.
The former Lakefront Bistro has now been transformed into Knot’s Kitchen, a family friendly and diverse dining experience that is split over two levels and seats over 200 people. The downstairs area is an open space with magnificent views of the lake.
Knot’s Kitchen and the venue’s signature restaurant, Crusoe’s, are backed by new menus from Executive Chef Nigel Rich who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from Oscar’s Café Bar & Restaurant (Hong Kong), Darry’s Verandah (McLaren Vale) and The Elbow Room (McLaren Vale).
New to The Lakes is the introduction of Mr Neptune’s, a relaxed café with a waterfront lounge area and double-sided fireplace as a centrepiece for the winter months.
We were absolutely stunned by the modern vibes and the beautiful views whilst sipping on a gin creation of our own. The food offerings on the day exceeded our expectations with something on the menu for every palate.
Our favourite on the day was the soft shell crab slider with the spicy sambal sauce. Delicious! The Nourish bowl was another favorite as it was packed with fresh vegetables and flavours minus the guilt!
The Lakes complex boasts 72 accommodation rooms, 2 bars, 2 restaurants, Café, sun deck, 7 function & conference rooms, pool & spa facilities, gaming room, bottle shop and cellars.
If you haven't seen the revamped Lakes Hotel make sure to get down there for a meal, drink or some nibbles and a wine near the fire place - we guarantee you will love it just as much as we did!
