We have always been fans of Ambra Liqueurs - in fact, on one of our recent overseas trips we purchased the Ambra Limoncello at the Melbourne duty free. Yes, we just had to support this wonderful South Aussie company. We definitely Choose SA! Tempting Palates were invited to their cellar door at Thebarton to celebrate the refurbishment of the premises and the evolution of Ambra Liqueurs.
Owners Peppe Fusco and Nando Focareta bought the business a few years ago from former restauranteur Libero de Luca who decided to retire at 80 years old. Using the original recipes from Libero they are transforming Ambra to become a young, fresh and vibrant liqueur producer not only locally but nationally.
The new premises are bright and colourful giving Ambra a new lease on life. “The renovations and new eye-catching colour scheme have completely transformed our Cellar Door and Spritz garden providing a welcoming, relaxing and fun environment which gets people in the mood for a refreshing spritz or casual cocktail with friends” says Peppe. The new packaging of the Ambra range enhances and showcases not only their popular Limoncello but the expanding new handcrafted flavours such as Agrumello (orange), Tangelo, Chocolatino, Amaretto (almond) and Cappuccino which provides a base for the perfect Espresso Martini.
Ambra Liqueurs are branching out to join forces with some of Adelaide's best restaurants to create some fun and refreshing beverages. You can find their creations at Osteria Oggi, Goerge's on Waymouth and Ruby Red Flamingo.
Ambra also unveiled Sophia, a Piaggio imported from Italy and customised in South Australia which can be seen at local bars and events. This mobile spritz bar is also available to hire for parties and private functions.
