West Beach's hidden gem Cafe Salsa has new owners! Tempting Palates were invited to the relaunch to try their delicious new menu while sipping on some fine cocktails! New owners, siblings Lance and Tanya Scopocasa and best friend Natalie Baker, have transformed the previously run down restaurant to give it a vibe of a fun beach side holiday resort in the heart of West Beach.
Bringing along Head chef Joe Cazzetta to create a menu inspired by his Italian heritage, Cafe Salsa has been brought back to life! We had a feast trying many of the new dishes from pizzas, pasta, desserts and much much more! Mayor Angela Evans was there to officiate the relaunch.
Before we got stuck into the Italian feast we had a few refreshing cocktails of Pimms jugs and Cafe Salsa's very own Salsa's Sun cocktail.
To start our afternoon feast we had Arancini, White Bait, Stuffed Mushrooms and slices of Pizza. Our favourite pizza (it was hard to choose) was the Vegetariana with mozarella, char grilled zucchini, roasted capsicum and mushrooms.
For mains we tried the Gnocchi Salsiccia, Cassarecca Granchio, Pappardelle Vegitana, Lemon Pepper Calamari and the Scallopini Funghi. Our favourite was the Cassarecce Granchio with WA crab deglazed in white wine with cherry tomatoes in a rose sauce.
Lastly, for dessert we had Banana Doughnuts and the Panna Cotta. We may or may not have had more than one or two of the banana doughnuts. Well, considering they were small it was hard not to eat more than one. Can you blame us?!!!
Cafe Salsa has a new burst of life thanks to its new owners. With great homely Italian food made with love in a beautiful beach side surrounding what more can you ask for?
