The Curious Squire New Menu Launch

The Curious Squire in O'Connell St North Adelaide has launched their new menu and Tempting Palates were invited for a tasting. It was a night of South American inspired food with matching craft beer from the James Squire range. With so many new items on the menu it was a long night of feasting!

New Head Chef, Daniel Tropeano has designed this new menu with passion. It's all about the experience and enjoying the food. Basically, don't be afraid to get your hands dirty! We started off with some crispy, gooey Monterey Jack Cheese Sticks and Daniel's signature dish of Mushroom Arancini Balls. He said to us that this was the very first thing he learnt as a Chef and has perfected them since then. How did he go? Well, they were flavoursome and creamy and we rated them highly!

There were Crabby Patties - Soft Shell Crab Burgers, American Pork Ribs & Hot Links (sausages), Smoked Vegetarian Pizza and for dessert the PB&J which was a peanut butter and jelly pop-tart.

The flow of craft beers was on hand  for us to quench our thirst from all that food. There was the Chancer Golden Ale with its fruity, orange flavours and a favourite amongst the ladies. The Hop Thief No: 8 which changes every 10 - 12 months and the latest being No: 8. This is an American Style Ale with a Cascade and Crystal flavour hop.

The 150 Lashes is another fruity flavoured Ale while the Nine Tales is a handcrafted Ale with pale and crystal malts giving it a more nutty flavour. Lastly, the Four Wives (you gotta love the names of all these beers!) is a Pilsner with a distinctive floral hop aroma and a spicy finish.

The Orchard Crush Apple Cider is an all natural, no preservatives cider. It's a traditional cloudy cider with a crisp finish. The apples are sourced from the orchard on Kissing Point. How cute!

The Curious Squire's new menu is worth a try. We have been a few times now and it has a great selection of eats and craft beers. If you want a quick meal before a show or you just want a bite to eat while you have a few cheeky beers or drinks then The Curious Squire is the place for you.
