From our visit to Tongue Thai’d, 54 Henley Beach Road, Mile End there was one common theme - “the Eggplant was the standout dish!”. The crispy coating of the eggplant with the rich toffee sauce just melted in our mouths. We decided to go with the Banquet to let the chef choose for us.
The entrees were tasty and well cooked but dishing up samosas, spring rolls and satays probably comes easy to chefs. The Green Curry was too mild for our palates and the Stir fry with cashew nuts and prawn was just lacking the wow factor. The long waiting times between dishes could be improved but all in all it was a pleasant dining experience.
In hindsight, we all thought we should have all chosen and created our own list of dishes as opposed to going with the banquet. Maybe a good reason to go back again soon?
